Cheryl was ordained as a pastor on July 7, 2013 under Apostle Stephen Amacker of Cathedral of Deliverance By Faith in NY to begin an independent ministry (Apostle Amacker recently passed in 2018). Cheryl was mentored by Mother Amacker (pastor of New Covenant COGIC) and later, by her son, Apostle Amacker (overseer) whom she grew up in church with at New Covenant C.O.G.I.C Inc. (her home church) in Brooklyn, NY.

Since the passing of Apostle Stephen Amacker, God sent another covering and overseer Apostle Dr. DL Wilson, founder of Kingdom Harvest International Ministries (K.H.I.M.) along with his wife and Co-Pastor Prophet Cynthia Wilson, in Norfolk, VA.

Cheryl’s spiritual heritage: Ministry initially began in Cheryl’s 20’s while a long time member of her family’s church “New Covenant COGIC” under leaders Pastors Holmer and Lelah Amacker. It was at New Covenant, where Pastor Cheryl’s gifts began to grow in the gift of prophecy, singing and preaching. Her gifts and calling were recognized and Cheryl began serving as an aspiring missionary and evangelist at New Covenant for several years. In the early 2000’s Cheryl became a member of The Greater Allen A.M.E Cathedral of NY where she and her daughter became involved in various ministries. Her daughter served in the dance and drama ministry and the youth choir. Cheryl attended The Cathedral Bible Institute at Greater Allen Cathedral and received two ministerial course certificates and sung in the choir for a couple of years. She went on to complete ministerial training at Allen. Thereafter, she was licensed as a minister at The Greater Allen AME Cathedral Church of NY under the shepherding (Pastors) of Dr’s Floyd and Elaine Flake in 2008-2012.

Cheryl also engaged in outreach ministry during the afternoons at Jesus is Justice Mission Church in Queens NY. Here, she started preaching within the men’s and women’s transitional houses, teaching Bible study on Men’s and Women’s night, and volunteering in the food pantries. Shortly after, she became a part of the ministerial team of the wonderful leaders, Bishop Harlan Bryant and Pastor Cynthia Bryant. She served as an Associate Pastor at Jesus is Justice where she also learned a lot about outreach ministry. Currently, Cheryl serves online as a Pastoral Counselor/Evangelist and a Certified Life Purpose Coach.

She is also a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor through BCPPC (Board of Christian Professional & Pastoral Counselors). Pastor Cheryl is currently enrolled in Liberty University School of Divinity as a doctorate candidate for Doctor of Ministry degree (2021-2023). She has a Masters in Theological Studies, a Masters in Human Services-Counseling from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary & Liberty University-VA, and two years of graduate Clinical Social Work education from Fordham University School of Social Services-NY. Previously, she wrote for the online journal Examiner.com as a NY Christian writer and now as a Richmond (VA) Natural Beauty Examiner-as a Licensed Cosmetologist/Natural Product Formulator/Natural Hair Care Stylist. Currently she writes as a contributing writer for Huffington Post and Thrive Global. 

Currently, she works in the human services field as a Certified (QMHP) Qualified Mental Health Professional providing parent-coaching, mental health skill building counseling for adults, and Intensive In-home Counselor for children and their families utilizing intensive therapeutic interventions for children/teens with trauma and behavioral/emotional dysregulation issues, and promote-pro-social/positive behavior & effective communication skills-while improving familial relationships (biological/adoptive/foster). In 2010, Cheryl established the ‘Goddaughters Workshop LLC‘ a teen-girl empowerment & mentoring pop-up workshops-now in VA. 

Pastor Cheryl recently received airtime to host her Get Your Life Back W/Cheryl TV Show on Preach The Word Network. Her first show will air in early May, 2021 on Fridays @ 8:30am.
